Start by riding a pet, checking Track, and using a radar to find an egg. Bring the egg back to My Plot, hatch it, then decide whether the new pet belongs on your next ride or in your earning lineup. Finding eggs and hatching faster pets is the game's main progression loop.12

Aim to finish one complete egg run before chasing a distant rare target.

1. Get onto a pet at your plot

Open Pets at your ranch. If a pet is available but unplaced, use Place Best, then approach the one you want to ride. Launch-week tutorials use Snail as an early mount; this is an example, not a verified universal starter reward.3

If no pet is available, check Egg Basket and the ranch nests first. Deliver an egg already in your basket, or finish an egg already growing before buying search equipment. If all three areas are empty, the initial starter-grant action is not established by the sources here; save the current tutorial objective when seeking help through the developer links on the official game page.

On keyboard, press E when its Ride prompt appears. On mobile, tablet, or console, use the action shown for your device. Use the visible Dismount control when you need to get off.

Before leaving, look back at the entrance and find your Your Ranch marker. Remembering where home is now makes the return easier when you are carrying an egg.

2. Check Track before shopping

Visit the NPC labelled Track Eggs in World. Its egg list shows targets and their luck requirements.

Read those requirements before choosing what to pursue. For your first run, favor a target you can attempt now rather than planning around an egg with a requirement you still need to meet.

The two useful reference points are the Track NPC at 5:30 and the egg list at 5:35 in ItzVexo's video.

3. Buy and activate a radar

Follow Go To Gear Shop and its ground arrows when that tutorial objective appears. Open Gears (called Rick’s Shop in the launch walkthrough) and inspect Advanced Radar, the first purchase used in published beginner tutorials. Check its current price, description, and remaining stock before buying one. A premium radar is not a prerequisite for following this route.

After purchasing, equip the radar and press Use Radar. Follow the target marker and its distance readout. Use the target the radar actually marks rather than assuming it must match an egg you noticed earlier in Track.4

If your preferred radar is sold out, check the shop's restock countdown. While waiting, finish anything still sitting in your basket or plot.

4. Pick up the egg and head home

Slow down as you reach the marker, move beside the egg, and use its pickup interaction. Check that it entered your Egg Basket before turning back.

If the basket is full, return with what you already carry. Another target can wait.

Once you have the egg, head straight to My Plot. Watch the Egg Will Break warning during the return and save sightseeing or shopping for after delivery.4

5. Place the egg in a nest and hatch it

At your own plot, approach an available nest and use Place Egg In Nest. If the hatch interaction asks you to get off your pet, press Dismount, then continue with the hatch action.

Let the ordinary growth finish, then complete the hatch interaction. The recorded growth screen labels E as Skip Growth and F as Skip All: those are shortcut prompts, not evidence of a free hatch. When the result appears, read the pet’s name and find it in Pets before starting another search.25

If the egg is still in your basket, it has not reached the nest yet. Reposition beside the nest and try the placement prompt again. For a missing result or an interaction that remains stuck, use the hatching troubleshooting steps.

6. Give the new pet a job

For your next ride, compare the lightning-marked movement value. For your plot, compare the pet's cash-per-second field, shown as $…/s.

Use Place Best in Pets as a quick placement option, then look at which pets are actually on the plot.2 Keep your current travel pet available until you have chosen its replacement.

A hatch that earns more cash can still be useful even when it does not replace your mount.

Common first-run mistakes

  • Buying a radar but leaving it unequipped. Look for Use Radar before setting off.
  • Leaving the marker without collecting the egg. Check the basket after pickup.
  • Adding another stop while carrying an egg. Deliver first; shop and compare pets afterward.

Next steps

If the trip itself is slow, follow how to get faster. If you can finish runs but cannot afford the next purchase, work through how to earn more cash.
